Kasseri is a rindless, medium-hard sheep’s milk cheese that is pale yellow in color and springy in texture. Matis Kasseri Cheese hails from Greece, with a “Protected Designation of Origin” (PDO). This popular table cheese has a mild, slightly buttery flavor. Often used as a Mozzarella substitute, Kasseri will add delicious flavor and richness to omelets, warm panini or pizza. Kasseri is also a natural for Greek specialties like fried Saganaki.
