Kasseri is a rindless, medium-hard sheep’s milk cheese popular in Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey. Pale yellow in color and springy in texture, it is often used as a Mozzarella substitute. Krinos Kasseri Cheese is aged for 7-12 months. A product of the Parnassos region of Greece with a “Protected Designation of Origin,” it is a delicious table cheese to serve with fresh fruit, nuts and figs. Kasseri’s mild, sweet, buttery taste with a hint of olive flavor makes it a perfect savory accent to omelets and sandwiches.
